Lord have mercy on my feet
So sorry it has taken me so long to write, yesterday I was on a ten hour shift and when I got home I talked to dad on the phone for ages and then I just collapsed on the sofa and didn't move for the rest of the evening, haha.
I am working at a cafe/restaurant really close to home. It opened two weeks ago so it's a new place, wich means that it's a tad disorganised at times I have come to realise. But I think it's going to get better once we have worked together for a while and I am really looking forward to seeing how it developes.
But my feet, oh my feet.. Yesterday when I got home, I couldn't move. I have done restaurant work before and I did remember how I used to complain about how my feet hurt afterwards, but this is much worse, haha. Allso today my wrists are a bit stiff because of the heavy plates we carry, lord I tell ya it ain't easy being me.
I was of today anyways, and im of tomorrow aswell so I can't complain. My body will recover. Tomorrow I am going to Yoga class for the first time. Looking forward to that very much actually.
AND YES I AM GOING TO BUY NEW SHOES TOMORROW MR DOODELS
I got the job :)
Sooo ...
In the afternoon I went in to town and bought some clothes for working tomorrow, I have to be wearing all black clothes and I don't own anything black, do I? ;)
Tonight just taking it easy I think. It feels as if I might have a little cold coming along so Im just going to rest so I am all fit for fight tomorrow. If everything goes well, she wants me to start working there next week :)
Living the dream
I can't really belive that I started looking for a job like five hours ago and I allready have a job interview. It's so different from Sweden.
The sun is shining, Des and I just got back from a two hour play session at the beach in the gorgeouse weather :)
I doubt this Friday could get any better!
Anna Anka?! / Anna the Duck?!
I try to keep myself posted on what's going on in Sweden by reading the newspapers on the internet. At the moment, swedish media seem to be consumed by one person and one person only: Anna Anka/Anna the Duck. Now I am seriously beginning to wonder: who the ---- is Anna Anka?
Who are you woman?
....
Lazy days
Yesterday I was so tired after getting back from Broome. But I managed to go to the cinema in the evening with Emma and her friend, that was so nice we had a great time and the film; 500 days with summer I can strongly recommend, it was fantastic.
Today I am going to start looking for work. Feels like it would be nice to start having an ordinary life here, it's lovely to be on holiday like this but the people who know me know that I am quite a restless person and that I like to have things to do.
The weather was awful yesterday but today its just blue skies, and this weekend we are expecting around 25-27 degress c so really looking forward to that!
I miss sweden a bit today..
Back at the ranch!
The hotel was fab. allthough the food was not so fab it was actuallt pretty crap haha. But that was ok because we had some lovely meals elsewhere in Broome insted, I even ate kangaroo, something that I am now very much regretting since I love kangaroos so much.. But on the other hand, kangaroos are tasty!
The weather was incredible, such nice weather. It was about 30-35 degrees celisius during the days and in the evenings one was never cold. I had understood that the weather was going to be warmer than it was in Freo but it was really really hot..
Cable beach was amazing, the water was so clear and 28 degrees warm as I said to Fran the first time I went in to the water "It's like someone has had a wee in the entire ocean" and that is truly how it felt, haha.
And we have had some laughs, of course. We have just had such a good time and I am so glad we went.
I haven't unfortunatley got that many pictures from Broome. But I will post some of them anyway so you can get an idea of what it looks like etc.
This is Cable Beach: (we went here every day)
This is the third evening in Broome, when we went out for a drive with a friend of Fran called Phil. He took us to the beach in his four wheel drive and we watched the sun go down:
And this is a pic just to show you how nice and clear the water was, it was lovely
So that was Broome, very nice place. Hope to go there again some day :)
Life is life
So early tomorrow morning we are leaving for Broome. I won't be "blogging" from there, I am just going to have a well earned break from the internet for a few days..
Will write all about it and show pics when we get back.
Take care everyone and talk soon :)
Yeah life is good
First, on thursday Fran and I are going to Broome, it takes about 2 and a half hours to fly there from Perth. Its sopposed to be such a lovely place and above all; great weather! Oh I am so happy :) We will be in Bromme until late sunday night.
Then, on the fourth of november I am going on my trip to Exmouth with Xplore travels, the grouptravel thing.
That is going to be soo cool :)
Famous Cable Beach in Broome
Looking for a job
Pleeaase someone give me a nice job? :)
Fab. day
I have just started using the word Fab. again, short for fabulous and I am really enjoying it! Fran has started saying it to and my plan is to have the whole of WA saying Fab. by the end of this year.
So anyway yesterday was great, first we went to a babyshower in Joondalup wich was fun, but not fab. Then went and spent some time with a family that Fran meets every now and again and it was so much fun! We played with the kids, two really sweet girls and we had so much fun and fish and chips it was great. I was just so tired last night I couldn't keep awake in the evening. Great day.
On friday night by the way, I was at the cinema and I saw a film called "The Soloist" and it was such an amazing film, I really recommend everyone I have ever known to go and see it. So good.
Today its lovely weather outside, so far anyway, so I am going down to the beach with the dog and we are going for a little run.
Scene from The Soloist that really gave me goosebumps
Babyshower!
Sori
Probably going to cinema this evening :) have a nice friday everyone
My dog
I am so getting a dog when I get home. I really want one tonight haha don't know why
My dog in future
Working 9-5
This morning I got up at seven to go to Frans lecture at the university. That was really good and I was very proud of aunty F.
I think I will have to have a big sleep tomorrow morning, I mean up at seven plus work in the afternoon. This is more then I have done since I got here :)
I allso had a manicure today (just to relax during my stressfull day, haha) and it turned out so good. Very nice girl in nailshop and she made my nails look really nice, good on ya mate! (as everyone says around here)
Sunny day/clouded mind
Haven't really done anything worth writing about today Im afraid.. Its now about ten PM and I wont be up much longer because I am getting up really early tomorrow to go and listen to a lecture at the Notre Dame university here in freo, held by my dear aunty Fran :)
The other day Fran and I went to the videostore to rent some videos and Fran said "Oh I saw a really good swedish film at the international film festival here in Freo a while ago, let me go and find it" and she came back with Colin Nutleys Heartbreak Hotel wich is a really good and funny swedish film and I was just so surprised that she had seen it and really liked it, haha. The world is smaller then you think sometimes I guess. So I might just watch that tonight and think about my dear friends in Sweden, friends that I am really missing this evening for some strange reason (!)
Kings Park
Des and I started the day with a nice walk on the dog beach. We met another Spoodle wich was good clean fun for everyone involved.
Then I went in to Fremantle and I found a place called Students Travel so I went in to see if they had any cheap trips, and I found out that they actually organize group trips to places in the WA (Western Australia). So it looks like I am going on a trip with them to a place called Exmouth wich is in WA but up north on the coast. The reason why I am chosing to go with them (Adventure tours) is because it looks fun but allso because since I am alone I am reluctant to go travelling by myself so I am really glad that there are grouptours to go on so that I can meet some people. I am really looking forward to it because Exmouth is sopposed to be so great! But that trip wont be until november because its still not hot enough to go and really enjoy the beaches and stuff :)
Then I took the train into Perth and I met Fran in a suburb called Subiaco and we drove to a place called Kings Park, an enormous park in Perth city. We walked round the park for about an hour but it really is a very big park so we didn't cover much today but when the weather is better we will surely go there again. So the weather could have been better but we had a nice afternoon.
I got some really good pics today, I am thinking of taking some of them to a shop in Sweden to make them bigger and then putting them on my walls in my appartment when I get home again :)
Some pictures from the park today:
Olivia
love you
Home alone
Had a nice day just prancing around the house reading my latest book and talking to dad on the phone, very nice.
Intensive 48 hours!
Yesterday I met Emma, a girl from Uppsala (in sweden) and we had a great afternoon and evening together. We went shopping and then we went to her beatiful house in Freo and then we actually ended up at her gym. I can tell you that every part of my body aces today, we did something called "Bodypumping" wich is really hard work. But I am soo glad I went it was really fun and I hope to join her again when she goes to the gym for her weekly bodypump. So we had a lovely time, speaking swedish and getting to know each other.
In the evening I watched a film with Fran and then today we went to an aquarium at Hillarys harbour (?) I think it was called. Anyway that was great fun. I will put in some pics below. In the evening we went to Frans friend Sue for dinner wich was really nice and we have had a great evening. I was invited to go out tonight with Emma and her friends but I am so tired and it's quite late here now so I think I am just going to watch TV and maybe go out some other time in the week.
Will write more tomorrow but I have had a fantastic start to my weekend :)
Here are some pics from the Aquarium today:
It was beautiful weather today as you can see.

IM UP!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
I think I have finally adjusted to Ozzie time, not a minute to late!
Its me, and I'm awake
Arrr mateeeyyy!
When I first got here Fran told me she had plans to make a sign to put on Des saying: "It's a fucking Spoodle"
(a spoodle is a crossbreed between a poodle and a spaniel) so that she wouldn't have to answer everytime people stopped here to ask what kind of dog Des is.
Brilliant idea is my conclusion after today.
Tomorrow I actually have to be somewhere at a specific time, makes me nervous to think about because ever since I got here I have been doing my own thing all the time and now I suddenly have to get up in the morning and go somewhere. Scary stuff.
Not as bad weather as it looks. Very nice beach there on the right.
Dessie
Little bit of harbour to give you an idea.
Went to prison
As I am now sitting in front of the computer, late afternoon, a storm is brewing outside. I actually got caught in it on my way home from town and it was not the best thing yet, haha. So looks like Dessie is going to have to be without a walk today cause I am not going out again in this weather!
Some pics from today:
This is one of the divisions of the prison and all the doors are obviously cell- doors. As you can see there is a net tied to the bars opposite the doors. It was called the suicide net and was there to prevent people from jumping. In the cells there were no toilets, only buckets, one bucket per cell. In the mornings when the guards where at the bottom of the stairs, prisoners would throw their buckets at the guards so that is allso why the net is handy. It did however not prevent the contents of the buckets from hitting the guards (!)
This is the isolation cell, where prisoners went who had behaved badly. They stayed in the cell 23 hours a day. Many of the cells did not have lights in them so many of the prisoners kept in there got problems with there eyes and allso with their mental health since they could not keep track of time. 2 years is the longest time a prisoner has spent in there.
This is a typical prison cell at the fremantle prison.
