Life as a "carni" (carni meaning a person who works at a carnival)

Still absolutley knackered from this weekend. I started working at two in the afternoon on saturday and got to bed at half past four on sunday morning. And actually, allthough we were working in a much nicer area this time (not frankston), I have to say that I actually think that people were nicer to me in Frankston then they were in Carolina Springs where we worked this weekend.. People just seem to have this general idea that people who work on carnivals are stupid and will try to trick you into giving them as much money as possible. NOT TRUE! I am just a flipping backpacker trying to make ends meet everybody!

So the job situation sucks. Will most likely leave melbourne in about two weeks and go woon some farms and stuff for free accom. and food instead. Good way to see australia.

:)

Work, sleep and sleep (?)

But I really couldn't be happier right now even if I tried :)

So right now we are living in a sharehouse in St kilda, just outside central melbourne. It is a really old house, quite cold when the weather is dark and rainy. But it's beautiful, and I love houses. It's actually really quite nice with wooden floors and really nice windows in coloured glass. And the people we are sharing the house with are ace.

This weekend I worked at a festival outside melbourne, in a terrible place called frankston. It was absolutley horrific. The people there were so rough and going home there were kids on the street asking me for money.. But otherwise it was ok. Good to have some sort of income. So next weekend I am going to work at another festival. Hopefully it is not located in Frankston.

Otherwise I am applying for work at stores right now. Hope something comes up soon, but I have good references so I think it should.

So that's my life at present. Want to try and work here in Melbourne for a couple of months before I go to Sydney, so I can get to the great barrier reef without having to sleep on the streets of Cairns. Hahah, just joking. But it would be good to get some money coming in.   Yeah.

Keep in touch. And feel free to comment I don't know why no one does that anymore makes me sad.

Life in Melbourne at present

Hello everybody

Long time no see, sorry about that. I have been busy on the kissing front (haha) and looking for apartments in melbourne. So tonight I am going to look at an apartment in Richmond, quite close to the first backpackers I stayed at in Melbourne. I really hope we get the apartment because it's cheap and it looks really nice, but we would be quite lucky if it worked out because we haven't really been looking that hard or long, to be honest.

But if it works out tonight, if I can win this couple over with my charming ways and smiles, then we would have an apartment until the 26th of march here in melbourne.

So now, I really need a job! I am going to rewrite my CV today and then really start to look for work. It seems that the only types of jobs I can find at the moment are waitressing jobs, wich I am not really very excited about. Hope I can find something else ..

Stay tuned for more news tomorrow :)

Leaving for Melbourne

Here I go, out in to the big bad world again :)

The blog will be down for a few days while we get sorted out over in Melbourne with living etc.

"Ending with a bang" or "Sluta med en skrall"

So here we are, in 2010. And this is my last week in Fremantle and Perth for a very long time. Feels strange really; the clean and beautiful beaches in western australia, the lovely, lovely aunty, the wonderful dog, Fremantle in all it's hippy spirit, Perth in all it's .. pretty but oh so boring way of being. All the things above mentioned, and so much more, they are just things I take for granted now. I have been living here for allmost six months. And now, I am leaving ...

So this week, I am going to give western australia an "Ending with a bang", because WA has been soo good to me.

-  Tomorrow: Am going to Rottnest Island (day trip) with Carl and Dad. Snorkeling!! I have missed you snorkel!!

- Tuesday: Road trip with cousin down south to Margret river until wednesday night. I have yet to go south in WA  so I am really looking forward to that.

- Thursday: Rockingham with family to swim with wild dolphins and celebrate dear Zaras birthday.

- Friday: Leaving

What a lovely week I have in front of me :)

Happy new year!

Happy new year to all :)

We had a lovely new years eve at Little Creatures breweries. Got to see irish riverdancing, african drumming and I got a private belly dance by a very lovely young lady :)

2010 looks promising with more travels, a possible start to my long road of studies, a dog with my dad and I am possibly allso getting married, haha.

Yesterday was nice, we went beach-hopping a long the coast. Felt very nice and refreshing and Fran and I went wet and wild in the waves.

Love to all, I really missed so many of you last night.
